Welcome to the Blog for the Royal Holloway Suffrage Centenary Project
The Royal Holloway Suffrage Centenary Project is a student led Project within the local community. This blog is written by student volunteers running sessions at a local youth group in Egham.
The project aims to inspire young people not to take their democratic vote for granted as well as celebrating the centenary of the 'Representation of the People Act'. We will be exploring other influential political figures throughout the project. The themes from this project are applicable to everybody in society, not just women.
To do this, we are running a program of arts and craft based activities. The youth groups that we are working with will also design a mosaic which is going on the new build in Egham high street next year.
Check out our 'About' page for more information on the history of the suffrage movement!
If you're a student at Royal Holloway, find out how to get involved on our 'contact' page.
Enjoy!
